WORKPLACE & INTERNAL INVESTIGATIONS
Workplace problems can become difficult very quickly, especially for small businesses that do not have an internal HR or investigative department.
DRS II Investigations provides independent fact-finding services for business owners and managers who need help understanding what happened, who may be involved, and what information can be reasonably supported by the available evidence.
MATTERS MAY INCLUDE
Harassment
Sexual harassment
Workplace threats or violence
Theft or misappropriation
Employee misconduct
Policy violations
Dishonesty or falsification
Retaliation concerns
Other internal workplace matters
THE FIRST STEP IS A CONVERSATION
Not every workplace issue should immediately become a formal private investigation.
Some matters may require law enforcement, legal counsel, emergency services, or another professional resource.
DRS II Investigations offers an initial no-charge consultation so you can discuss the situation before deciding what should happen next.
During that conversation, we can discuss the nature of the concern, immediate safety issues, available evidence, possible witnesses, and whether an independent investigation is appropriate.
IF AN INVESTIGATION IS APPROPRIATE
The investigation may include:
Interviews with complainants, subjects, or witnesses
Review of documents and records
Review of emails, messages, photographs, or video
Review of applicable workplace policies
Verification of relevant information
Evaluation of material inconsistencies
Preparation of a written investigative report
The scope is agreed upon before the investigation begins.
INDEPENDENT FACT-FINDING
DRS II Investigations conducts workplace investigations as an independent fact-finding process.
The purpose is to identify and document relevant information, evaluate available evidence, and report investigative findings.
Employment, disciplinary, legal, and business decisions remain the responsibility of the client.
CONFIDENTIALITY
DRS II Investigations handles workplace matters with appropriate discretion.
Absolute confidentiality cannot always be guaranteed because information may need to be discussed with witnesses, subjects, legal counsel, law enforcement, or others when reasonably necessary to conduct the investigation or comply with law.
IMMEDIATE SAFETY OR CRIMINAL MATTERS
A private investigation is not a substitute for emergency services or law enforcement.
If there is an immediate threat, emergency, or crime in progress, contact 911 or the appropriate law enforcement agency.
